About-300x79px

The Calder Valley Line connects us to Yorkshire and Manchester. The line connects us to work, loved ones, enables visitors to access our villages and towns. The Calder Valley Line offers a direct route into a range of exciting leisure and tourism opportunities. The area is also blessed with both fascinating local history and heritage as well as some of the most stunning landscapes in the North of England; it also runs parallel with the Rochdale Canal which offers some beautiful walks.

We want to work with the local community to promote travelling by train.

We want to focus on education by working with schools, colleges and youth organisations: the partnership will work to enhance children’s exposure to the railway and introducing new users to the railways.

As part of our partnership we work closely with a number of organisations including Rochdale Council, Calderdale Council, Network Rail, TfGM, WYCA, Community Rail Network, and a number of local councillors and stakeholders.

Our priorities are:

  • Providing a voice for the community
  • Promoting sustainable and healthy travel
  • Bringing communities together, supporting diversity and inclusion
  • Supporting social and economic development
