Castleton

Castleton is an area of Greater Manchester; it’s a former mill town and part of the borough of Rochdale. Castleton is named in the Doomsday Book and was the site of the Rochdale Castle. It grew rapidly with the arrival of the Rochdale Canal; before the canal it was known as Blue Pits Village.

There are some great places to visit near Castleton or you can take a stroll along the canal towards Rochdale or Middleton and explore some lovely countryside.
