Todmorden

Todmorden offers numerous places to discover. Climb up the 121 foot high monument, Stoodley Pike, but don’t forget your torch as it’s dark inside! Take a look at Englands’s highest beach, the shores of Gaddings Dam above the Shepherds Rest. You’ll have to make sure you’re suitably equipped for the journey as there is a steep hike to the top.

More central to town, keep a look out for the statues at Todmorden Town Hall representing the Lancashire cotton industry and Yorkshire’s engineering and agriculture. A short walk from the station you will find Centre Vale Park which has a variety of facilities, and you can visit the ‘Lucky Dog’ statue, which some believe can bring you luck if you give it
a friendly pat. And don’t forget to visit the ‘The Great Wall of Tod’.
