Celebrating 200 Years of Railway History in Hebden Bridge
The town of Hebden Bridge came together to honour two centuries of railway heritage with a series of heart warming and thought-provoking events — a shining example of how history, community, and creativity come together through community rail.
A huge thank you to the Friends of Hebden Bridge Station, who warmly welcomed guests to a special free screening of the film Brief Encounter at the Hebden Bridge Picture House. The 1945 classic – set in a station café – proved the perfect way to reflect on the romance, connection, and everyday moments that happen on the railway. The atmosphere was full of nostalgia and appreciation, reminding us how trains and stations are more than just travel – they’re part of our cultural story.
